Concrete Repair & Replacement
Fix damaged concrete before small problems become major headaches

When to Repair vs. Replace
You're looking at your cracked or damaged concrete, wondering if you should fix it or tear it out and start over. It's a fair question, and the answer depends on what's actually wrong. Not every crack means you need a complete replacement, and not every damaged slab can be saved with simple repairs.
At Winder Concrete Professional, we give you honest assessments. We look at the extent of damage, the underlying cause, and what makes sense for your budget. Sometimes a $500 repair beats a $5,000 replacement. Other times, patching old concrete just delays the inevitable and wastes your money.
Common Concrete Problems We Fix
Concrete develops problems for different reasons. Understanding what's causing your issue helps us fix it properly so it doesn't come back. Here are the most common problems we see:
- Hairline and small cracks from normal shrinkage
- Larger structural cracks from settling or poor base preparation
- Sunken or uneven slabs from soil erosion underneath
- Surface spalling where the top layer flakes or chips off
- Stains from oil, rust, or other chemicals
- Trip hazards where slabs have settled at different heights
- Deterioration from freeze-thaw cycles or deicing salts
Each problem requires a specific repair approach. We don't use one-size-fits-all solutions because that rarely works long-term. Whether it's a concrete driveway or patio, we match the repair method to your specific situation.
Our Repair Methods
We use proven repair techniques that actually work. For small cracks, we clean them out, fill them with flexible sealant or epoxy, and smooth the surface. This prevents water from getting in and making the crack worse. For larger cracks or damaged areas, we cut out the bad concrete, prepare the edges properly, and pour new concrete that bonds to the existing surface.
Sunken slabs are a different challenge. We can often lift them back to the correct level using specialized techniques, which costs much less than replacement. For surface damage like spalling, we either resurface the concrete with a fresh layer or apply specialized coatings that restore the appearance and protect the surface underneath.
The key is fixing not just the symptom but the cause. If poor drainage caused your concrete to settle, we address the drainage problem too. Otherwise, you'll have the same issue again in a few years.
When Replacement Makes More Sense
Sometimes concrete is beyond saving. If more than 25% of the surface is damaged, if you have widespread structural cracks, or if the concrete is breaking apart, replacement typically makes better financial sense. You spend less in the long run and get a surface that will last another 30 years.
Replacement also gives you the chance to fix underlying problems and upgrade the appearance. Maybe you want to add decorative elements, change the layout, or improve drainage. When we replace concrete, we remove all the old material, fix any base or soil issues, and install new concrete built to last.
